Andrea Bertoncello has served as a Partner at Sagard in Europe since 2022. As a member of the Sagard MidCap investment team, Andrea invests in middle-market opportunities focused on transformational growth companies located in Europe and plays an active role in originating and executing deals, as well as in tracking investment performance. Andrea is also responsible for the development of Sagard’s activity in Italy. He is based in Milan.
Prior to Sagard, Andrea spent the first six years of his career doing M&A advisory, mainly at Mediobanca in Milan. In 2006, he joined L Capital (at that time, the private equity arm of LVMH, today L Catterton) and managed three pan-European funds specializing in branded consumer goods and retail. In 2015, Andrea moved to DeA Capital (a leading Italian asset manager), where he helped launch a new private equity strategy focused on agri-food and F&B-related businesses. Since then, two funds were raised, and a second geography (Spain) was opened after becoming the leading sector-focused fund in Italy.
He holds an MBA from the University of Turin.
